Painkiller and like demos

having a problem with the video on game demos like
Painkiller 1 & 2, Devastation, Unreal2 Extended MP. i've
recently upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP Home
Edition. my graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti 4200
and all drivers have been upgraded to the max. but when
it came time to play those demos, all i got was a blank
screen. checked my refresh rate, was set at 60Hz and
have already and unsuccessfully tried other refresh
rates. i've already contacted Nvidia about the problem.
i also unsuccessfully downgraded my video drivers because
XP doesn't support the older files. when i had Windows
ME and the older drivers, those games worked just fine on
the video. i have tried just about everything i could
think of with no success. I'm pretty new to this Windows
XP thing, so all working replies and suggestions are
welcome. I don't keep track of these newsgroups, so an
email to gamefreak_34@hotmail.com should do just fine.

Hi Evan,

It sounds as if you've corrupted your drivers base with
Me drivers on an XP system. You should consider either
repairing XP or reinstalling it to revert back to a clean OS.
