So I have a PC with a black/red theme (generic i know). I have looked around for a full black mousepad of decent quality and of the extended form factor. I haven't found anything as of yet, if you can suggest anything, that'd be great. My last resort would be painting my razer goliathus, is that possible?

Reflex lab has a really nice extended mousepad. Only thing is they have their logo on it which isn't too bad if you ask me. I don't think you could paint a mousepad as the paint wouldn't really stick that well to the fiber and it would probably affect tracking and friction. Link to Reflex Lab Full Black I have the Red and black Pro 36 Heavy and I absolutely love it, best mousepad I've ever used, even machine washable.
If your not too picky about the surface, and your looking for a cloth pad try looking to play mats for card games. I'm sure you can find one in all black. Many shops that sell magic cards will have mats and take customs orders. These tend to be as big large mouse pads. Painting a mat would ruin the surface. You may as well make you own with a flat surface and spray paint if that's your intent.

You can get "personalised" mouse mats from photo printing (gift) services
They're often a standard mat with a semi hard plastic sleeve with your selected design photo in it. Probably not great for gaming though.
It may be possible to make your own in a similar vein?
Or possibly fabric paints or dyes?
A fabric seller may have nicely patterned or coloured neoprene material (or other low friction type) that would do the trick (possibly even off cuts?)
Or how about ebay, buy a cool wetsuit on the cheap, cut out a flat area, back it onto a stiff card/plastic
Hey presto
Unique, personal, colour scheme compliant mouse mat ^_^
