Hello, does anyone know of a step by step tutorial on painting a pc case? What kind of sand paper to use, what type of paint, etc.

thanks in advance

Solution
just to add a body shop may even have a color you like left over from a job he throw in for free to paint a case it will not even take a pints worth depending on how many cotes you want

I like 3 but I do it all my self like last red one I used a bright white undercoat then applied the red [metal flake candy red]

then a buddy got me some military black and green and brown they had left over from a national guard job I did a camo case with it

now for the plastic parts that spray paint from walamrt I think it was called fusion [???] worked well looked good and bonds to plastic [ don't peel or flake off ] it did well and lasts good product for plastic parts like front panel , so far black is what I...
i tried to paint my case years ago, i used white and black paint from a can, it didn't worked well, black paint came off easily

possibly because i didn't used sandpaper to prepare the surface first

i would use sandpaper with water to make it more constant, 100 or 150 caliber sandpaper, or perhaps something more soft

about the paint, well, i had bad luck with it, so not sure if i can recomend any, interestingly, the white paint over the plastic parts worked very well, still looks nice, not professional looking but nice enough, better than the yellow plastic i had before

I guess you could look at automotive body shop stuff that pretty much how I paint my cases ? all you need is available at most parts stores like napa or who ever in town supplies the body shops ?

320 paper should be enough to scratch for the new paint to stick or go to your local body shop and ask the guys there to give you pointers ..

then yu can look over automotive colors from Yugo green to corvette candy apple pearl red ?? as plain or as fancy as you want

you know how good your cars paint is when you keep it clean and durable

heck for 20 bucks the body shop would shot it for you if you got it prepped

Thanks for the advice, I was planning on doing it myself as a little project. Want to do multi-coloured and layered with some designs.

Thanks mate, I should be fine with this information. I live in the UK, so we don't have those shops, but I'm sure I can find the stuff I need, or just get everything off amazon. I'll post a picture back in this thread when I'm finished
