3060 Ti sells for 15% more but offers 25% better performance ($635 vs $550). So it is the better buy unless it will be badly bottlenecked by the aged Core i5 6600K CPU (OC'ed to 4.5 ghz).

I play at 3440x1440 resolution; I typically play games like Elden Ring, Total War, Civ, GTA, Crusader Kings, Tomb Raider, Cities Skylines. These games are fairly CPU heavy but at 3440x1440 resolution they will probably put heavy loads on the GPU as well.

What do you think? Worth paying more for 3060 Ti?

Possible if you want to upgrade the rest of system later. I did this - got RTX 2060S for a box with i5-760 and upgraded the rest to decent parts a year later.
You think price is likely to drop again? With the war and COVID surge in China, where I assume these cards are manufactured, looks like supply constraints will only get worse.

Just for fun I plugged in my 3090 into my 10 year old 3570K o/c to 4.5ghz setup and it was able to keep up at 4K 60FPS which is the max on my OLED TV. That's with elden ring, RDR2, FFXIV, GoW

LOL good to know. I ask this same question on Reddit and a lot of folks told me it's not worth upgrading the GPU, just throw everything in the trash and build a new PC. My 6600K is also overclocked to 4.5ghz, should probably work okay for a few years. Tho probably won't do 4K 60 fps like your 3570K.
