Hello guys, i have a GA z97p d3 motherboard, and it has 4 ram slots, its a dual channel, can i pair 2x 2gb "kingston khx1600c9d3/4g 1.7-1.9 v" with 2x 2gb "kingston khx1600c9d3/2g 1.7-1.9 v" ? Notice the first kit says 4g while the second kit says 2g. While all ram sticks have same frequency same CL, same brand. Does it affect in any way?

Solution
I bought 2 identical 8GB sticks (Corsair 8GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2400Mhz C16 Red Kit for X99 Chipset (CMK8GX4M1A2400C16R)) and they are working in dual channel. Now, I don't know what 2g and 4g stand for, but you might want to refer to these rules:

Rules to enable dual-channel mode
To achieve dual-channel mode, the following conditions must be met:

Same memory size. Examples: 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB.
Matched DIMM configuration in each channel
Matched in symmetrical memory slots
Configurations that do not match the above conditions revert to single-channel mode. The following conditions do not need to be met:

Same brand
Same timing specifications
Same speed (MHz)
The slowest DIMM module populated in the system decides memory...

well, the kit with 4G, means that they camed in a kit of 2x2Gb=4G, the 2G kit means that it has been bought separately, not in a pair thats why it says 2G, instead of 4G.

Thing is i have a kit of 2x2 GB/4G and 1x2GB/2G, i have found someone who sells a 1x2 GB/2G, so i could make a pair. just wondering if it is right to match these 2 kits, before i make the purchase.

Ah now I get it.
I don't see a problem in matching the 1x2GB/2G with another 1x2GB/2G if they are identical since I have done that myself, but I'm afraid that I don't have an answer to whether it is OK to pair the 2 "kits". Sorry!

Edit: Try and refer to the link I posted in the comment above. You could find your answer! :)
