Pairing Bluetooth keyboard

I have a Solid Tek Bluetooth keyboard that has been working fine until I accidentally removed the BT dongle, when I put it back my keyboard did not work. The pc says it recognizes the keyboard ( in the Bluetooth utility) and that the dongle is working correctly but I cannot get the two paired. I also cannot find any info I got with the two so I obviously am not doing it right. Not sure of pin, been using 0000 then enter.

try taking batteries out the keyboard

then press a few keys in case its got capacitors

put batteries back in

go to pair it in windows

windows should show the pin needed far as i remember which you put into keyboard
