if i have 8gb of ddr3 1600mhz from 1 company and i buy the same type of ram from another company is it ok to pair that

Maybe. RAM is sold in prematched sets for a reason. These are guaranteed to work

If you have to mix the best option is to buy a stick of the exact model number as what you have. This will usually work.

If you can't do that you need to match voltage, speed and cas latency ( timings ). This may or may not work and will depend on specific parts.

Mixing RAM is more likely to work on an Intel system than an AMD system. Don't even try it with Ryzen.
