Pairing the GPU and the Motherboard???

So this thread will not be related to performance, budget or any of those "tech stuff". I would only like to know if pairing the gpu with the same branded motheboard is better or is it better to pair it up with a different branded motherboard? I know you don't understand this much so i'm going to give you an example of this problem...I have a gigabyte gtx 970 xtreme gaming oc version gpu and i have 2 motherboards that can be paired up with this gpu, it's the msi x99s sli plus and the gigabyte x99 sli. Now the question is....will it be better in design or theme if i pair this up with the gigabyte motherboard or msi x99s sli plus motherboard? The gigabyte motherboard has some gold accents on it while the msi motherboard is pureblack. I am following a green and black build!

Since you said this isn't about performance, I didn't look up anything about these boards. Going just on aesthetics.

I say MSI. The black, white, and grey looks much classier than the black, blue, and yellow. Looks like it'll match better with your GPU too.
