Hi all,
So I bought a Palit GTX1080 Jetstream, to replace my XFX DD 290X.
I inserted the 1080, plugged in the DP cable and turned on my PC, the light on the top of the GPU came on (red, blue, then green) and the fans started spinning. The lights on the GPU then go off, and the fans stop spinning, but then the blue light on the monitor comes on, and the screen goes from standby to 'black' (as if it were trying to display a completely black picture, but with some light bleed and things).
Restarted with 290X in top slot and 1080 in lower slot, monitor plugged into 290X and starts up no problem. 1080 shows up in device manager and in BIOS, but no picture from it when I plug a monitor into it.
I have tried removing BIOS battery, connecting with different DP HDMI and DVI cables and monitors, putting them in different slots, switching PEG power cables, installed and reinstalled NVidia drivers.
It always says, when used as a secondary card (with no video out) "code 43"...
I can't shake the feeling it's a configurational/software issue rather than a hardware one, but not sure of what else to try. Also can't open NVidia control panel at all to see what it says. Any ideas? Any info I have missed out? Thanks in advance for any advice :)
Specs are:
5820k (so no iGPU to try)
MSI X99a SLI-Plus
32GB (4x8GB DDR4 2400)
Samsung 850 evo boot
HX850 PSU
