Hi everyone

Between these 2 cards, which would be better considering I only have a 400W PSU with 23A on the 12V rail? It's a stock one that came with the case so I really don't want to push its limits. Ergo, I looked for cards that omitted the pcie connector, just like the reference card, hence drawing at max 60W (hope I understood that right)

Also, please don't suggest dual-fan cards - am looking at these two in particular as they're more compact. My case's a Elite 343 (small, yes) and I'd rather not push the boundaries on how big a card I can fit in there

I found the "real life" measurement of the Zotac here on the site but haven't found the Palit's. I can comfortably fit the Zotac's 145x110 frame, after I move my wireless adapter two slots down

Another question I have is, based on the pictures, do they mean that the Zotac will blow air all around my case (like most cards) and the Palit will expel air out the back (exhaust/noisier)?

Also, at my local shop, the Zotac costs ~$15 more, so their prices are about the same

Thanks guys

I would recommend the Zotac card for the reason that you get a 3 year warranty upon registration as long as you register it within 28 days of purchase. The Palit card only comes with a 2 year warranty on the card. Other than that, Performance wise; They are about equal.

In regard to your question about air flow, both will blow air all around the case, and neither card will get all that hot since they are only 60w TDP, so that wouldn't make a big difference overall.

I would buy the Zotac card and not look back.

Have a great day!

Thanks for the speedy reply. Another question I have is, would my PSU cope fine with the Zotac? Considering I have a 7700K. Again, from what I've gathered - 23A on the 12V rail is very little.

My PSU's the Cooler Master RS-400-PSAR-I3

The above links to a review of the J3, not sure if there's any difference but here's an actual photo of the one I have

The power supply that you have now is fine as far as wattage goes and could last you until you get something better. But, I would switch to a more premium brand such as Seasonic, XFX, or Corsair to guarantee that it delivers the proper wattage. All because a computer power supply company puts a sticker on it that says that it delivers 400 watts, doesn't mean that it can deliver it at all, or even stable over an extended period of time efficiently. A bigger power supply would also open the door to so many more GPU possibilities and upgrades in the future.

Cooler Master doesn't make their own power supplies but merely relabels other ones made for them by someone else. Quality power supplies have either 80 Plus or Bronze classification and are made by companies with reputations for quality power supplies.

I hope that helps.
