Panasonic CF-48 System Shuts Down Within Seconds After boot

Hello,

I recently got a panasonic toughbook cf-48 from a friend and I know it is very old however I am trying to see if I can save it.

Any way to get this thing to boot and stay on? The only time the laptop stays on is when I am in the bios. I cannot even install an OS. I read that it has 256mb on the motherboard and I'm wondering if that went bad, any way I can fix that if it did??

also I do not have a battery and I do not have any ram besides the 256 mb in the mobo
