I been given a Panasonic FZ-G1 (toughpad/tablet) that is missing its SSD drive, In my nievity I thought I could pop in a new SSD and install Windows 8 (the version that it had originally), via a USB etc etc. However after formatting the new SSD and before attempting to install Windows, I simply get what im assuming is the BIOS password, which I dont have. Would trying a bootable USB solve the problem ??

A bootable USB has nothing to do with the BIOS password.

Your ONLY recourse, and the ONLY thing we here can suggest is to get that password from the previous owner, or ask Panasonic.
Forum rules preclude assistance with circumventing passwords.
