PAPA 8 Final Results Posted

The final results are now online, along with the scores of every
round and tiebreak in all of the five divisions that played finals
on Sunday.

I will be updating the site this week to address plans for
PAPA 9, among other things. Of course, I welcome feedback here
or via e-mail as well. I also have some pictures I'm sorting,
which will be posted on the site with captions soon.

Thanks go out to everyone who attended, everyone who volunteered,
and everyone who played! It couldn't happen without you!

Memorable moments include Bowen's one-handed LITZ on TZ, and of
course, Keefer's Addams Family incident...

Just wanted to say that, in addition to being amazed at the speed and
quality with which you were able to rebuild the facility, I was quite
pleased by the improved organization (at least in C division which is
the only place I can speak from experience). I thought it ran much
more smoothly than last year.

Thanks to everyone who put in the time and effort to make this thing
happen.

I don't think anyone did. We were pleased to just quickly make
the problem disappear. Although next year we're assigning a
videographer to tail you 24x7

For the record, Keith tapped the lockdown bar in frustration
after a drain on Addams Family. He does this often and is not
pounding it, just a tap. The playfield glass, which turned out
to be plate rather than tempered, shattered quite stunningly.

Nobody was hurt, and the game was back in service after 15-20
minutes of cleanup, but tempered would have been less likely to
break, and definitely would not have been dangerous to anyone.

The only reason any game had plate glass was if it was sold to
us that way and we didn't notice. We have a decent stock of new
tempered glass we use to replace plate glass, or scratched glass.

Does that mean a future Stern game will feature a mode called "Keith's
Iron Fist"?

That could be worked into the Marvel Universe pin as Iron Fist was a
cool 70s kung-fu character.
