Hello, I am very new to building computers and I plan on building my own computer by the end of 2013. I've done a decent amount of research and I picked out some parts that I'm considering to use. The system I will try to build is intended to be a gaming PC. I need to know whether or not these are all compatible because I'm not 100% confident. It would also be nice if I can get some advice and suggestions for better and/or cheaper parts to be used as an alternative to my originally chosen parts. (I'm not confident that I picked the right Power Supply and Motherboard)

Chosen parts:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core
Motherboard: ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0
Hard Drive: Seagate SV35 Series ST1000VX000 1TB
Power Supply: CORSAIR CXM series CX600M 600W ATX12V v2.3
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660
Case: NZXT SWITCH 810 White CA-SW810-W1 Steel / Plastic ATX HYBRID Full Tower
Optical Drive: ASUS DRW-24F1ST

Thanks to anyone that provides an answer :)

Solution
That is a solid build, mobo is good and PSU is good enough.
Another option would be XFX Pro 550W or 650W.

I would recommend getting an aftermarket CPU cooler such as Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. Nicer sound profile and keeps the CPU cool.

7870 as a GPU would atm have better bang for buck. As you can get them for around 150.
If you want to go Nvidia, get the GTX760, at 240 it is worth it, the 660 at 200 really isn't.

Thanks alot :) I appreciate the feedback and I probably will use your suggestions for a better GPU and a aftermarket CPU cooler. I'm also relieved to hear that I picked the right motherboard and PSU.
