I've heard of entire partitions doing this, but never just a portion of one. Windows disk manager says the entire partition is healthy and operational, but there is a good 400 GB of space on it that I can't do anything with. I have tried a disk check and repair, but it hasn't fixed the problem. If I had to guess I would say an entire sector of the drive is corrupt, but I want to be certain before taking the data and moving it to another drive.
None of the existing data has been affected. It was an entirely empty part of the drive, but is part of the main partition.
