I'm looking to dual boot Windows 10 and ubuntu 16.04 because I'm told wubi.exe won't work with Windows 10 64 bit. I am a beginner when it comes too partitioning my HDD so I thought to pose my question to you guys.

I am using a 1 TB hard drive. I mostly use Ubuntu, but I need to keep Windows 10 and I wanted to make a storage partition to use for both Windows and ubuntu. Is it possible for anyone to instruct me on the number of partitions to use and their sizes?

If it helps, I was thinking to make Windows 10 a 50 gb partition, making another 50 gb partition for ubuntu and dedicate the rest to my storage drive.

Hey there, Brandon.

Basically you'll have to do some work for that, but there's a way: http://askubuntu.com/questions/223655/windows-ubuntu-dual-boot-share-files-between-os. The how-to tutorial which is linked in the answer is for Win 7, but you should be able to do that with Win 10 as well. However, I do recommend that you make a backup of your important data before you start with the dual-boot setup.

Hope that helps.
