Hello i got a bit of a problem. (macbook@osx lion)

When i try to re-size my HDD for a msdos partition (20gb) in disk utility,
It gives me the following error: Partition failed: The requested change in size is too small.

Today i re-installed Mac Os Lion because i corrupted the HDD after installing Kali Linux on another partition i made and shrinking the main Mac OS hdd from the gparted disk utility.

Now all that is finally resolved ( altho i can only get into linux using grub recovery codes. )

I would like to make a Windows partition, which i have done many times before.

I have tried different sizes.

Not that it matters since it worked before but my specs are:

Macbook 4.1 2008
160gb HDD
4gb ram

PS : I'm not in the mood to re-install lion again or make a big clone of my hdd. I just want to partition 20gb for windows.

I hope you can help me.

Hey there, cm0scm0s!

I'd suggest to try resizing the partition through the OS recovery disk.
I've also read somewhere that a defrag utility can rescue you from this issue.
But before you try anything, you should do a complete backup somewhere else, just in case.
Unfortunately, if none of these work, I think you might be facing a re-installation of Mac OS Lion again 🙁

Hope this helps though.
