Partition is missing

Today I've reinstalled my Windows, now I'm working on Windows 7 Ultimate x64.Everything works fine except that one of my partition, which was the only one on an additional hard drive, is mssing!I tried about 4-5 partition recovery softwares but with no luck.Another thing which bugs me is that the partition didn't actually ''disappear'' since those softwares say that it still exist and it can still be found in Disk Management.Any ideas why I can't see it in My Computers and why I can't access it?

EDIT:I found out that I can fix this by assigning a letter to the partition.All I'm concerned about is if it's possible to lose data since it still has all its data on it.So, can I lose any data?

You won't lose data by simply assigning a drive letter, but you should back it up if it contains important data.
