Hello,

I have a PC someone wants me to use Partition Magic on. We want to combine C
and D partitions into on partition. However, this machine, oddly, boots from
D. So, will I want to combine C into D? Will it still boot OK if I do?

Thanks,
Brian

You say it boots from D but does it really boot from D or does Windows
run from D? Where are boot.ini, ntldr and ntdetect.com? If these are
on C then the PC is booting from C. If that is the case, the easiest
approach would be to remove everything from C save for those files (and
bootsect.dos and ntbootdd.sys if present) and then resize C down to the
smallest possible size. The resize/move D to take up the free space
created by the shrinking of C.

Red flag here. What's on C:? This a hidden partition?
