hello. i have a client who would like his w10 hard drive to have a separate partition to run older 16 bit programs/games. he wants a menu to popup when he boots the system to choose which OS he wants. will i run into any issues doing this?

thanks!

If the question is whether you can setup up dual boot between Win10 and Win98, then the answer is probably not. Unlikely Win98 has the drivers to support hardware designed for Win10.

A virtual machine (VM) is the way to go. DOSBox is usually sufficient for DOS-only applications.

There are some games that require access to Real Mode and will not run in a VM no matter what (e.g. Ultima 7). These will need specific compatibility mods such as Exult.

Edit: if you really really want to try dual booting Win10 and Win98: https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=41065
