I would like to know if my Optiplex can handle a core 2 dou e6400 with a 8gb ram and run get 64 bit on it with my LGA 755 mother board.hly aprreciated

The optiplex755 can support the c2d e6400 (2.13ghz ), but for the 8GB stick, it is the question marker, because there is not single stick 8GB for that time, so try it, if you want. Solution
With the cost of used systems and old RAM, you may be better off just buying something for $100 to fully replace it. Much faster Core i3 and i5 systems can be found in the $100 range. Makes a lot more sense than upgrading a Core 2 Duo system even if it's double the cost of the upgrade.
