I hope these are pretty safe choices, especially memory & M2 drive.
Light battlefield 5 type gaming, photos, data, etc.
I can't wait any longer for the AMD5600x, since I am dead in the water. Maybe later.

AMD RYZEN 5 3600 6-Core 3.6 GHz (4.2 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 65W 100-100000031BOX Desktop Processor

B550 and X570 both natively support the 5000 series cpus. The only reason I'd choose an X570 based on the given reason is if I'd move to a 5900x/5950x, the extra capacity of the VRM's being a bonus. For a move to a 5600x/5700x a B550 is perfectly adequate and might offer better choices for the same price or cheaper. Most X570 are too old, being released before the adaption of USB-C ports in cases, so do not have a native USB-C type header on board. Many B550 do, if your case has such a port in front/top, that can be a selling point.

3000/5000 series cpus get the best performance from 3600/16 ram, be slightly faster than the 3200/16 chosen, and that'll affect the Infinity Fabric the cpu uses to communicate between cores. = higher fps.

Ill bump up the memory. The board documentation listed 3200, but not 3600.

Memory Standard3rd Gen AMD Ryzen Processors
4400(O.C.)/ 4266(O.C.)/ 4133(O.C.)/ 4000(O.C.)/ 3866(O.C.)/ 3733(O.C.)/ 3600(O.C.)/ 3466(O.C.)/ 3400(O.C.)/ 3200/ 3000/ 2933/ 2800/ 2666/ 2400/ 2133 MHz Un-buffered Memory
2nd Gen AMD Ryzen Processors
DDR4 3600(O.C.)/ 3466(O.C.)/ 3400(O.C.)/ 3200(O.C.)/ 3000(O.C.)/ 2933/ 2800/ 2666/ 2400/ 2133 MHz Un-buffered Memory
2nd and 1st Gen AMD Ryzen with Radeon Vega Graphics Processors
DDR4 3200(O.C.)/ 3000(O.C.)/ 2933/ 2800/ 2666/ 2400/ 2133 MHz Memory

  • Refer to www.asus.com for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).
  • The maximum memory capacity supported vary depending on the CPU you installed.
I did not check Qualified vendors list.

In general all your parts will work together just fine. Instead of X570 motherboard I would go for good B550 motherboard with good VRM (10+2, 12+2 and similar). For your tasks B550 have same performance than X570 without pesky chipset fan (another thing that can broke and whine in quiet evenings). 5xxx CPUs are supported in both mentioned chipsets.

The X570 has no realistic limits, currently the fastest applied ram on a Ryzen is 5000MHz on an X570. Realistically there is but 1 limit, and thats infinity fabric. IF is an avi used to facilitate communications between the Ryzen chips, since they are not a single chip under the IHS, but 3-6 chips to spread out the heat more. The IF has 3 main values, which are based on the ram speed.

1000 series used a 3200MHz, 2000 series was bumped to 3466MHz and 3000/5000 use 3733MHz as a maximum value to get a 1:1 ratio. Above those values, the cpu automatically switches to a 2:1 ratio, which cuts performance. That is unless you really want to get into playing around with ram/cpu/IF settings (which isn't advised for the feint of heart) and plug in manual values.

This makes 3200MHz best for 1000/2000 series cpus, and 3600MHz best for 3000/5000 series cpus.

After that, tighter timings are always a bonus, but you'll pay extra for that.
