Parts of a URL

Solution
'http' means hypertransport protocol. The 's' at the end means it's a secure (encrypted) connection. When you type a URL into your browser, the request is sent to a DNS (domain name server) which looks up the IP address of the site that corresponds to the URL. Other than that, I don't believe there's really a standard for what a URL looks like. In your example, the "watch?v=eyKOgnaf0Bu" is just some format that youtube chooses to use to address its videos.
