Question Parts of system randomly freeze ?

I have a brand new build (about a few days old) and I keep getting random freezes but only on parts of what my computer is running.
  • YouTube (and the rest of Chrome) will sometimes have a visual-only freeze while the audio continues. Sometimes the audio also freezes completely.
  • My mouse is the Logitech G600 MMO mouse and the thumbpad (buttons 1 thru 12 or "1 thru =") will just not work, then start working again doing all the inputs I did on it. The rest of the mouse works completely fine during this time, as does my keyboard.
  • Some other applications such as "Advanced Combat Tracker" (for Final Fantasy XIV) will randomly stop working. FFXIV however runs just fine whenever this random freezing occurs on everything else.
Here's my specs below:
  • OS: Win11
  • MoBo: Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE AX
  • CPU: i7 13700K
  • GPU: RTX 4080
I have tried the following solutions to no success:
  • Did a Memory test and it had 4 successful passes with 0 errors found.
  • Ran SFC, which it did find a corrupt file (and repaired it) that supposedly wasn't related to my issue at hand; there's still issues afterwards.
  • Reinstalled my Nvidia driver to no luck.
  • Made sure to match the refresh rates of my monitors to 60 (as my main monitor is actually 144, but for the sake of testing, I had it at 60); this did nothing.
  • Tweaked numerous settings in Nvidia's control panel to no avail.
I'm honestly at a loss for where to begin as it feels quite random. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you install Intel inf chipset drivers?

Can you run userbenchmark test and show link to results?

What is ram configuration of your system?
Can you show screenshots from CPU-Z memory and spd sections?
(upload to imgur.com and post link)

What model PSU are you using? (full model name)

Intel inf Drivers: If they didn't come with Windows Updates or Gigabyte's GCC, I didn't specifically. I did find some Intel drivers, also the "INF Utility" driver from GCC, is that what you're referring to?

UserBenchmark: Link to bench test.

RAM Config: Sorry for being noobish but do you mean which slots I put it in or like, in the BIOS Settings?
- Hardware: Slots 2 and 4 as recommended by the MoBo
- Software: Untouched, left default in the BIOS.

Screenshots from CPU-Z: Link to screenshots.
Edit: I'm a bad who can't follow directions, lol. Here's the Memory tab.

PSU: Corsair RM1000x, and here's an Amazon link to it.

Yes those. You find them at board manufacturer support site.

You have 5600mhz ram operating at 4800mhz.
Go into BIOS and enable XMP.

INF Drivers: Okay well in the screenshot they're right there in GCC so I do have them.

XMP: Done, here's the new benchmark and CPU-Z pictures with XMP enabled.

Benchmark results are better.
Do you still have "freezing" issues?
For the last ~10 minutes no, but it randomly triggers so I'll keep watch to see if it's happening or not. Will definitely post back here if it does, but for the time being, thank you for your help!

Also, before I also got your first post, I did reinstall FFXIV to see if that was potentially causing it or not since I believe most (all?) of the observed freezing was while XIV was open (I usually just leave it open regardless, so most of what I'm doing has it open anyway). It's possible doing another fresh install of it could have fixed (if it's fixed) the issue as well at this point; I'm honestly not sure.

Update: it's been about 7 hours and still no issues. Thank you again SkyNetRising! I still have no clue if it was the XMP enabling or reinstalling FFXIV, but regardless, the issue seems resolved for the time being! 👍❤️
