Ok, so you all may think me a little crazy when you read this, but I really dont care. Start of story. At my dads house, I have a really nice gaming pc that I use 5 days of the week, it has a i7 3960x, 16GB of 1866 ram, asus rampage extreme motherboard, 256gb ssd, gtx 780ti 3 way sli, all water cooled. I need to upgrade my computer at my moms though. I just got my paycheck, and I have a grand total of 1700 dollars to work with. So here is the thing. At my moms house, every 3 or so years I build a new computer mirroring that of the maximum pc "Dream Machine" that was released the year of the last time I built a new pc for her house. This works for me, as I do not game that much, I just need a programming workstation and ssh terminal so I can access my servers etc. etc, and I do not use the computer at my moms house often, but I would like the option to game if I want to, so would it make sense to mirror the maximum pc build of 2012? Here is the parts list I have now.

I would like to know if you think I am crazy, or if this is a decent build, and if I should go for it. I am not really interested in buying dual 770's or a 4770k or anything. let me know about the parts. Also, can you let me know if the 680's I have selected will work in the cooler master cosmos se case? I have heard they may not fit. Thanks in advance!
