This build is my daily driver that sits next to the beast so this will be on 24/7 used for comin daily web searching constant video rendering some 1080p gaming any genre I probably want it small for portable not sure on that yet but I would like when not heavy load it's silent and silent or near silent when under load

One thing I was looking at was getting a hp workstation with a Xeon w3550 4/8@3ghz seams fign for what I would need but it's got only a 475watt and of corse hp likes to move pins around I was thinking of putting in a 970 for the gpu

Also I was thinking of making it passively cold and the fans only turn on when he needs to

Are i3-7 good for never shuting down except to clean or would I need to go with a Xeon system

small cases and large gpu unless it a gaming itx or micro atx case you may have heat issue or uses a lot of small fans you hear the fan noise. look at the newer cube cases that have handles on them. micro atx size. there be slightly larger then the small itx cases but you can use standard gpu and power supply and air or sealed water coolers. look at the newer skylake -e and xeon dropping this year. work pc want cpu with more cores. more cores they can render your work faster. also look into the newer pci ssd and faster m2 ssd. for the boot drive. for the gpu in a few weeks nvidia doing paper launch for pascal. faster then the older 900 and use less power. for power supply look at platinum and gold units. newer digital units from...
