Patches needed to play battlefield 2

Hello,when i click on play battlefield 2 it pops up on the screen but then shuts off back to my desktop.please help

Try reinstalling it. Make sure you have Direct X/video drivers updated.

is it a new install? install again if not, i've had it happen, can't recall what fixed it though, I know a reinstalll was needed for one instance. Try one of the dedicated bf2 forums too as they have experienced this a lot.

Re install. Also, I am assuming this isn't a pirated copy.
