i saw that this was out in early access and i figured i'd grab it. i played POE1 for a while years ago and thought i'd give it a shot.

got the installer from the site, waited a while for 90 GB to download, loaded it up to find you have to pay to play the early access

and now i have sad 🙁

never occurred to me a free to play game would cost to be a beta tester. oh well, guess i got to wait for it to hit final release so i can try it out.

if i knew i would stay with it for a long time and really "finish" the game, i'd happily and quickly pay to play.

but i'm so ADHD that i am just as likely to enjoy the crap out of it for 2 weeks and then never play it again. lol

free to play for me is basically a demo. if i'm still with it in a month, i'll buy something to say thanks for the game. got a couple mobile games i have actually spent some cash on as a way to thank the devs for months of entertainment. but if i don't stick with it, then i'm just happy it was a free chance to see what it offers.

Yup, I learned for past mistakes buying into an Early Access game, I wont do it again. Once I seen that you have to pay $40 I think it was to try it, not my money...

I didn't like the first POE anyway, and idk if I'll like POE2, so no money from me.

I never played the first PoE... and am currently having too much fun in D4 to just stop. May check it out at the end of the D4 season after the dust settles.

Yeah, I knew it had come out, didn't realize it was still in early access.

I didn't actually get all that far in POE. I'm still not sure I like the skill tree, just doesn't seem that rewarding. But I imagine a lot of that depends on how far you get in the game.

I still tend to revert back to playing D2 when I want some ARPG action. For a long while I was using Pluggy so I could collect a whole bunch of items and then role other characters to use them.

I think another post mentioned D2R Modded, here is hoping Blizzard doesn't crack down on the multiplayer which I understand they recently got working.
