I just finished URU-POTS, and I was very disappointed. The solutions to many
of the puzzles seemed tedious and unrewarding. Am I alone in this?

I thought it was okay, but not as good as To D'ni. I thought the ending of
POTS was fairly lame.

I particularly thought that having puzzles whose solution required sitting in
front of my screen for 15 minutes doing nothing was abusive.

Agreed. If it had only been the pallet (or whatever they were) making
machine, I wouldn't have minded so much, but to demand this again when
waiting for the drawings in the Bahro cave and then again to solve the
actual Path of the Shell, that was rediculous!

The real stupid bit was "walking the path of the shell" in the Tree Pub and
suddenly having "god-like" powers with the ability to link out without
having a book. How is that supposed to work?

Same here.
Since I didn't know anything else I could do and thought I must have missed
something somewhere... I spent hours looking for a clue which wasn't there.
Had to look for the solution in a walkthrough while I promised myself not to
do that for this game.
Ok, I knew that part was all about patience and waiting, but 15 minutes?!?
Crazy!

Marcel
