I installed 32GB (4x8) Patriot Viper Steel 4400 MHz memory in my Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus Wi-Fi MB. It also has an AMD Ryzen 5600x and an Asus GeForce RTX 3070 ti installed.
(Reviews for both from your site: Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus Wi-Fi Review: Solid Features for $200
and Patriot Viper Steel DDR4-4400: One Speedy Serpent)
Using D.O.C.P. in the bios, the timings come automatic at the appropriate 19-19-19-39, but that automatic 4400 MHz that come up will not boot. I have to manually lower it to 3600 MHz.
Does this mean the MB can't handle the Patriot DRAM? According to this Asus document: Memory_QVL_for_3rd_Gen_AMD_Ryzen_Processors_X570.pdf , the board can handle other brands at that frequency, but this specific Patriot DRAM is not listed.
I tried it with 16 GB and I can get the frequency up to 4000 MHz, but no higher.
I'd like to be certain that this is all the speed I can get on this MB with these DRAM sticks.
