I'm looking into building an Intel i5-2500k system. I had gotten some RAM a few months back at a decent price that I was thinking to build around.

Patriot Sector 5 DDR3 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) PC3-16000 2000MHz 9-11-9-27 Enhanced Latency Dual Channel Kit PGV34G2000ELK

I have read on newegg that if this type of memory is not paired with a p55 chipset then it will not work even close to what it is supposed to. I'm not adverse to selling it if it won't work, just wondering if I need to or if it will work. Does anyone have any knowledge on this?

Thanks
