Patriot Viper 4 (2400Mhz 2x4gb) Compatibility

Hi, recently had some struggles finding RAM but I was wondering if this RAM would work on an ASROCK A320M-HDV motherboard and ryzen 7 1700x processor. I'm also running a GTX 1060 3gb if that's important. Thanks in advance!

No reason it won't, but have you already purchased your parts, that board will severally cripple your cpu

On Ryzen it's more beneficial performance wise to run faster modules.

Yeah, I already purchased the parts but how will the motherboard cripple my CPU?

You can't overclock the cpu at all, and it won't run fast memory which is basically required with ryzen

Yeah that's what I've seen on the web, my only problem is money and that is simply all I can afford right now, it will still work decent right?

Wasn't planning on OC, but I can't afford any faster than 2400 so that will have to do I suppose

Also it says on the ASROCK website that it can support ddr4 up to 3200MHZ so I don't quite understand the comment about not running fast memory. Sorry I'm still a little new to this stuff.

It'll probably work okay I've just not had good luck above 2666 on a couple of a320 boards. Supposedly they can but I've also not put any good 3200 memory in one since they were cheaper buolds
