So, I have a Gigabyte Z170 HD3P, and I recently added a second drive to it, and now, in the middle of gaming, or surfing the internet, or just coming home and my pc will load into the BIOS for no reason. Then I have to go through and set my boot drive to the correct one. But, it will do this even if I only have one drive on it. I have had Gigabyte motherboards before, and usually I get some trouble from them, but this time, it's worse than anything before. I have loaded windows on to two other drives, and ran each of them by themselves, and it still happens, with a fresh install mind you. I have never exceeded the load on my Power Supply, and it's silver plus 700W, at max I may use 550. But I have never had a motherboard do this either. Any ideas of what I should do? And sorry if I missed an answer to this on another forum, I haven't been onto Tom's in a few years, sorry community, I am a terrible supporter

You should include your full system's specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

How old is your PSU? Are you on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard? Have you ruled out a corrupt installer/installation by recreating your bootable installer and then reinstalling your OS?

Sorry, been away awhile.

Core i5 6400
Gigabyte Z170-HD3P
16GB G.Skill 3000+
Intel SSD 460?
RX 570 8GB
650 Watt Silver certified
Kind of a generic chassis
Windows 10, fully updated.

I also installed the OS on another hard drive, and it does the same thing. Once I added the second hard drive, it started to do it. I have not updated the BIOS in a couple of years.
