Currently have the following system:
MB: ASUS P8Z77 WS
Processor: Core I7 3770K
4 sticks of Corsair CMZ32G X 3M4 X1600c10
Video card: EVGA e-GeForce 9800 GTX 512 ram
Currently have all 8 on board SATA's occupied, 6 of them with Hard drives (mostly used for video processing, always on as a server and some games played as well).
MB is suspect and is currently with ASUS for diagnosing problem (system build from March 2013).
Question I have is, should I spend probably $300 for repair or just go with new system and try to sell off the parts from original system?
I have been looking at following parts:
Processor
Intel Core i7-6800K 3.4GHz 6-Core $409.99
Motherboard
Asus X99-A II ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard $223.88
Memory
2 sets of X Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory $93.99 each set
Video Card
MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Video Card
Is there a vast improvement from my old build to new prospective build?
