My current display is an LG 22" from 2008, 60 hz, 1680x1050, 2ms (L227WTG-PF). My main use for my computer is MMORPGs, in the past I have played EQ, EQ2, DAoC, Warhammer Online, Rift, LoL, and I have also dabbled in FPS which I do really like to play just don't play too much.

PB278Q is 27", 1440p, 5ms, 60hz, $560
VG248QE is 24", 1080p, 1ms, 144hz $270

Advantages of PB278Q are size and hopefully color.

Advantages of VG248QE are response time and refresh rate.

Is there any chance the 1440p and better color will make up for the slower response time and the refresh rate?

I want to be able to run EQ Next on High Res whenever it comes out, I will probably be getting a 2 GB GTX770 or GTX780 with this rig. Will both monitors be equally taxing on the GPU or will one be harder on it, if so why?

Thanks guys, appreciate you help!!

The real alternative to the PB278Q would be the VG278HE (27" 1440p). And the alternative to the VG248QE would be the PA248Q (24" 1920x1200). I'd take the PA248Q/PB278Q for the colour quality. With Trace Free (set it at 40) you'll have excellent pixel response without sacrificing quality. With the VG models you'll have even faster response but quality will suffer.
