So i have a pc and a while ago my motherboard died and i had to get a new one, it works fine but i cant get it to get to windows! After post logo it just goes to a blinking underscore.
Here is what i tried and what i know :
The hard disk is working fine and i also tried another hard disk which is an ssd, same problem
Reinstalled windows, uefi, bios, also same problem. The hard disk is plugged into first sata port.
The thing is, the usb installation stick boots fine and also shows as uefi , i also installed windows to go on the hard disk, plugged it into usb and boom it booted fine, but my adapter is usb 2 and really slow and this isnt really a solution.
The pc booted once when the usb stick was connected and i booted from the ssd and it worked fine for some reason but now its not booting what so ever.
My bios doesnt have the option to switch between uefi or legacy bios.
PC Specs : i5 2400 - GTX 1050 TI - 8 GB ddr3 - 500 watt unitech psu - foxconn p67a/p67a-s motherboard
Any ideas? Really desperate after trying...

that underscore means your bios cant load boot program from your drive
boot from usb stick to get into windows recovery, from recovery options fgo into command line and type in those commands:
bootrec /fixMBR
bootrec /fixBoot
bootrec /rebuildBCD

first one may not work, since you may have uefi, but it shouldnt matter if youre on uefi, other two shouldnt throw any error, unless there is an issue with your windows installation

I did that now and now on boot it says enter boot drive and press enter or restart etc..

If you stick that same usb drive in does it boot into windows now?
You probably changed the bios settings to have the usb drive as the first boot device when you installed windows so that windows now thinks that it has to boot from the usb.

answer for your question : no it doesnt boot into windows, now it boots into the usb directly
First boot option in bios is the hard disk
+ When i said that my pc booted into windows only when the usb was inserted that was before re installing windows not after, i remember that i had windows boot manager *i think that's what it was called* in boot options, but now its not there

the thing is the hard disk already had windows, and the first time i plugged it in this problem happened, so o tried to install windows and no the first boot option is the hard disk in bios, and i press f7 it opens boot menu and i choose the hard disk again same problem. I have an ssd that i can connect it with USB 2:0 or sata, i installed windows to go on it and plugged it via USB and it booted fine
