I am having a problem with my pc and I'm not exactly sure what the cause is.
Issue: When I go to power on, the cooling fans and my lights will come on, but my graphics card (gtx970) fans will seem to attempt to come on then stop. This happens repeatedly every 5 seconds or so. None of my peripherals come on through either front or back USB ports, and my monitors won't detect any output from the card. Also, I cannot do a hard shutdown or reset with the buttons on the front, I have to switch off the PSU in the back. I've done a paper clip test on the PSU to see if the fan comes on and it does. I am aware that doesn't rule out the power supply but it makes me less suspicious. At this point I suspect it is mostly a motherboard issue but I would like to get some additional input before I take action.
I don't have any spare parts to swap in to test with, which is unfortunate, so if anyone has a suggestion for how to troubleshoot within this system I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for any suggestions!
