Hi guys, new here so bear with me, hope im posting in the right place.

I recently got the following system

Processor: Intel Xeon E3 1230V2 3.3GHz LGA 1155 Boxed Processor
MOBO: SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCM-F-O LGA 1155 Intel C204 Micro ATX Intel Xeon E3 Server Motherboard
RAM: Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3L 1600MT/s (PC3-12800) DR x8 ECC UDIMM 240-Pin Server Memory CT2KIT102472BD160B
HDs: (3x) WD Red 3 TB NAS Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, SATA III, 64 MB Cache - WD30EFRX
SSD: Chronos 60GB

FYI it came with ubuntu server which wasn't booting and i ended up installing windows 7 on it for testing.

The Problem

The system powers on but emits the attached beeping noise continuosly (http://vocaroo.com/i/s1iEAXysgqt1) and only stops once booted into windows 7. I left it on overtime and it didnt beep or shut down etc, stayed as i left it, but thee beeping returns everytime you boot thee system.

Edit: Just realized it actually shuts down now sometimes before booting into the OS and and on two occasions blue screened after passing the windows logo.

I realise this is most likely a hardware problem but dont know what it is based on the beeping, researched it and came up empty handed.

Hope i explained the situation clearly, Assistance will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Solution
I have found this post from another webpage with a possible solve to this issue, http://ccm.net/forum/affich-15161-computer-beeps-when-i-turn-my-computer-on seems to be a processor issue with the constant beeping like above
Also the random black screens/reboots is directed at processor, its very rare that a processor actually goes bad but in this case i think it is the problem. Blue screen just before windows loads is normally due to RAM which is why i didn't consider the processor being the issue

Is this a new set of RAM, by the sound of beeps and blue screen before entering windows points the problem towards a RAM stick, boot with just 1 stick of ram in your machine in DIMM slot 1. If the problem persists swap it out with the stick that you removed and try to reboot, Booting from 1 stick should solve the issue and will be able to tell you whether its a board or a stick of RAM. If the machine boots with one stick you might want to get a replacement for the bad stick, if you are having the same issue on both sticks then it sounds like the board. If so move both sticks over to DIMM 2 and DIMM 4 and see what you get.
Post back with any results,

Jason

Thanks for the reply, will try and report back.

Tried both sticks in slot 1 same problem, both in 2 and 4 same problem - the beeping as attached and when i tried to let it boot blue screened after the windows logo.

Solution

Bought this from a seller on ebay, was suppose to be a year old, was a good deal. Was looking to convert it to a freenas system, was just testing beforehand, when i discovered these problems.

At this point, might just arrange for a return.
Think that might be best

Thanks for all your help.

Well if the processor is the problem then i would consider returning the machine, as it didn't boot into Ubuntu either is kinda saying that there was something wrong to start with and swapping over to Windows may have solved the software side, it cant quite solve the hardware issues.
