PC booting, but monitor, keyboard, mouse not working.

Hello Community, I read through some of the different threads and didn't quite find an answer. Anyways, just as my title says. The computer boots up, no noises or anything bad sounding, but monitor, keyboard, and mouse don't work. Pretty much a brand new PC, rebuilt and swapped stuff out 1.5 months ago and everything worked fine till now.

Mobo Asus z270 prime
GPU Strix rx 480
2x ddr4 8gb ram
1tb ssd
3tb hdd

Hi, Try clearing the CMOS. If an internal speaker connected, try starting the board with no RAMs installed and see if any beeps.

I'll start with clearing CMOS. What does that effect though? Will it damage any data on my desktop?

Also, is the CMOS the battery? Do I just pull it out and put it back in, or what?

Yes, the battery cell. Remove it for a minute. No damage at all.

Do I have to do anything in any type of bios settings afterwards? Stuff in bios always makes me nervous

Setting date and time. Is the pc under warranty?

I think so...I bought most of the parts off of newegg.

And, when firstly booted the pc, you did not adjust the BIOS?

No, I didn't mess with any of that stuff. AM I running and outdated bios maybe?

Did you assemble the pc, or somebody else?

Local Radio Shack did the assembly for me. I'd never installed a new CPU so I just let them handle the whole thing.

Then I suggest letting them troubleshooting.

What causes the BIOS/CMOS to need to be reset? Is this going to be a recurring problem? Do I need to look at getting a stronger PSU or new Mobo?

So I got it powered down and un plugged, pulled out the graphics card and then took out the battery for a minute or so. Pushed the power button to flush any last energy out, put battery back in and hooked up. Fired it up and nothing changed...I really am hoping its not the CPU at this point.

Radio Shack might be able to better troubleshoot the issue, by testing different parts.

True..unfortunately, the guy is out till next Monday lol. Guess someone is trying to teach me patience

I think that messing with the components might worsen the situation. I suggest leaving it as is till next week.

Well, turns out it was actually the motherboard. Shame it was only 2 months old.

Correction, It was the CPU Motherboard is actually fine.
