pc booting problem ?

I have just tried to re assemble my old computer which is

phenom ii x 6 1100t
asus m4a88t-v evo
xfx 850 watt psu
8 gb ram
on board graphics

I built the pc again using the above parts and I don't get no signal form monitor when pc is on , I have checked everything tried a gpu instead of the on board gpu, I am running out of ideas is the the motherboard dead ?

Have you established that:

1) the monitor actually works?

2) the monitor signal cable is okay?
