Hello i bought a new ssd to install in my pc! i installed it without problem installed windows and wanted to see how the ssd performs so i run a benchmark. I saw that the ssd hadnt the speed i was expecting and googled the internet to see that sata needs to be changed from ide to ahci for the ssd to work properly so i went to the bios and changed the setting from ide to ahci. then when i restarted my pc i got a blue screen i closed my pc and i opened my pc and disconnected the hdd's that i had connected and kept the ssd installed so i can install windows again. When i started my computer it started to boot loop and after pressing del to access bios it shows only uefi bios on top and then it restarts again. I disconnected the ssd and my cd-dvd reader plus all the hdds and ssd! again bootloop. I then removed the cmos battery waited 5 minutes and put it back to my motherboard and again it bootlooped is there a solution fix i can do to make my pc working again? i never updated bios nor changed any settings from what it was in default my motherboard is gigabyte h77m-d3h my gpu's leds are working and my cpu fan is spinning i am kinda new to hardware i can't access windows

You are supposed to switch from IDE to AHCI mode before you install Windows. You can try switching back to IDE mode. Modify the Windows settings. Then switch to AHCI. I haven't tried these instructions.
Windows 7/8: https://winaero.com/blog/switch-from-ide-to-achi-after-installing-windows-7-or-windows-8/

i cant open the bios nor windows it just bootloops and after 3-4 restarts it shows uefi bios without at the top of the screen and it restarts again instantly i cant access anything dunno what do i didnt expect this outcome !

Try getting into the backup BIOS

- Turn off PSU power switch on the back of the computer
- tap the front power button three or for times
- Press the power button and keep it pressed while you flip on the PSU.
- The computer should turn on then turn off in a few seconds
- Release the power button
- Turn off the PSU in the back and wait ten seconds
- Flip back on the PSU
- Click the power button as you normally would.

No luck unfortunately it didnt work 🙁

Gigabyte made a backup BIOS. Which sounds great. Unfortunately if you have a problem. They have zero documentation on how to utilize it and it is a pain in the butt to access.

Look over your motherboard for a BIOS switch. Mine has one and it wasn't even labeled. I looked at pictures of your board but could not find it.

Try shutting down. Then turn on by hodling the power and reset switch at the same time for about 10 seconds. Sometimes this makes it check the BIOS.

You can try spamming ctrl F10 or ctrl F12 during boot (varies). On some models this will make it check for a corrupt BIOS. If it asks you to copy. Make absolutely sure it is copying Backup to Main not Main to Backup. You don't want it to copy a bad BIOS to the good BIOS.

First check your motherboard and see if M_BIOS and B_BIOS have lights. That way you can see which one it is trying to load. It should be M_BIOS (Main). They are located to the lower right of your RAM. Next to the white SATA port.

The last ditch effort is to short out the correct pins on the M_BIOS to force it to flag the BIOS as corrupt and flash over the backup. It seems to vary by model. As to which pins are correct. If you short the wrong pins. You are f***ed. Be very careful or you can destroy the motherboard. I'd consider this a last ditch effort. As you can potentially damage the motherboard permanently. I don't know if other components are at risk.

thnx for helping i will try the restart and power button method and the f12 or f10 method and see if it will fix things i really dont know a thing about the third option that u told me but i am bit afraid to risk something i dont know how to do maybe an expert at computers would know what to do on the matter! i ll try these and tell u if it worked! i am really desperate dont know why by changing this option it (ide to ahci) made so much mess to my pc ! 🙁

still no luck i tried everything i think that its time to just buy a new motherboard with new components such as cpu and ram i would gladly hear any suggestion u may tell me or if there is another option to fix this motherboard thnx in advance!

If you're going to give up the ghost. You may as well unplug everything except the CPU and one RAM module. Then give the BIOS short circuit a try. Since you'll just be pitching them anyways.

What is your budget?
