I have Seagate Barrcaude 1TB HDD with SATA3 interface. yesterday i've got into my bios and noticed that the hard drive mode is set on AHCI, and i know that AHCI is basically for SSD's with 2 other functions. so i've set to IDE mode and my pc starts to boot loop, why is that happening?

Solution
because your windows install most likely has the IDE drivers disabled because it was installed in AHCI mode, AHCI does improve performance for normal HDD's so just change it back.

if AHCI is compatible for all SATA devices so for which devices IDE mode is compatible?
