Hello,

My PC is booting to the motherboard logo but doesn't go any further into Windows. The PC does boot to the BIOS.
We've also tried booting from a new M.2 drive with Windows installed on it which resulted in the same problem. After all this we thought that it might be a faulty motherboard or PSU after which we tried different ones, but same result.
Trying to boot the PC into recovery mode is also not an option as the PC doesn't trigger recovery after trying to forcefully restart it multiple times.

The current state of the PC is breadboarded with a single RAM stick (which we've also swapped with different ones).

list of tried fixes:
  • Different SSD (with Windows installed)
  • Recovery mode (PC didn't boot to it)
  • Different motherboard
  • Different PSU
  • BIOS update to latest version
  • Breadboarding

PC specs:
Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus B550 V2
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
GPU: Gigabyte 3070 RTX
PSU: CoolerMaster 850W
RAM: Kingston Fury Beast 8 GB

Can you access BIOS settings ?

Yep! It’s still able to do that
It sounds like it's not finding the boot partition on the M.2 drives. One thing to try is put the BIOS in CSM mode in case Windows was installed on the M.2 using MBR partitioning scheme.

Also, reset CMOS if you never have. It may not be necessary but's it's easy to do and can't hurt.

But even if this works you should not use a pre-existing Windows installation that came from another PC/motherboard. You should instead do a clean install of Windows onto the same M.2. If changing to CSM does work it might give you a chance to back up any user files on the drive you might want to save since a clean install will delete all existing partitions. Or it might not give you a chance to make a backup if it's unstable or doesn't otherwise work properly on different hardware than it was installed with.

After backing up user files, put BIOS back into UEFI mode before starting the clean install. This will ensure the Windows installation routine prepares the new partitions using GPT scheme, needed for UEFI mode operation and Secure Boot.
