PC boots up but monitor screen is blank.

So I finished my new PC, went to boot it up, and the screen is black. It obviously detects that there is a source, since there is not a (No Signal) error. The power LED on the Samsung monitor is flashing. Please help!

have to ask. the monitor is connected to the GPU and not the motherboard?
