Hi, I'm looking to make a PC specifically for gaming. My requirements are:

-144ghz, 4K monitor

-Be able to play newest games at high frame rate (really looking forward to Battlefield 1)

-NOT be required to do any in depth techy stuff like overclocking (I'm sure to you experienced guys thats not 'in depth', but I'm not great with computers and I'm sure I'd end up doing more harm than good if I attempted something like that)

-Around 1500$ CAD/ doesn't necessarily include the monitor, that can be outside of the 1500, but I'd like to keep that under 400 if possible. (so I guess 1900-2000$ with monitor)

I'm also willing to wait a month or so since I won't have the full budget til then anyways, so if you want to include things like the new 1080 or 1070 cards that would be good, but I'm not gonna be doing any VR stuff stuff.

Thank you so much in advance- I'm sure seeing these kinds of threads gets tiring but us noobs appreciate your help.

Obviously the GPU is a stand-in.

There is no monitor that fits your budget and requirements. Btw, There are no 144hz 4k displays period. What you can get is 144hz 1440p, witch is better anyway, since 4k is too much for anything 27" and below. 1440p is the perfect balace, as in you won't have to use windows DPI scaling(teh icons and stuff won't be too little but the right size) and it can be driven easier by GPUs.
What you should aim for i soething with G-Sync as that is a must. But with G-sync, 1440p AND 144hz they are expensive(but totally worthwhile if you can afford then and an awesome investment). Take any of teh 3 conditions out, and they are more affordable, but all three..

A FreeSync monitor when the OP intends to buy an Nvidia GPU? Really? :)

yeah didnt know how to manually put that as a custom part yet, who knows though what the market will do with 3rd party vendors putting their own spin on things.

That Asus Z170-E is just a lower spec of the Z170-A board, does anyone know if it has an audio LED and if so what colour it is? Cant decide between the Asus Z170-E or Gigabyte Z170XP SLI
