I am assembling a new desktop:

Cooler Master Elite 130 ->3600(INR)

Intel i5-4670K
MSI Z87I-AC ->24800 (both motherboard and processor)

Kingston HyperX (1600) (1 x 8 GB) ->4900

Seasonic SS400BT ->2475

Seagate Momentus 500 GB (5400 rpm)(SATA II) ( from old Laptop) ->free

APC Ups 600VA ->2300

Dell P2212H(1920 x 1080) (Already owned) ->free

Dell Kb212 Wired Usb Keyboard ->400

Logitech M100r ~>400

Primary use:

CAD Applications : CREO PARAMETRIC 2, SOLIDWORKS 2012 etc (Regularly)
Image editing: PhotoShop, Illustrator,Irfanview etc (occasionally)
Other: MS Office,Google Crome (Reports and research) (Heavy)

Secondary use:

Games(NFSMW,CS 1.6,MW),1080p Movies.

Query:
1. Is this a good build as a Entry level CAD Workstation ?

Do i need a SSD ? (may be (Intel 520 120gb)/Sandisk Ultra Plus 128 GB/Corsair force GS)
Is my laptop 2.5" HDD a serious bottleneck

Do i need a Quadro graphic card ?( I am still learning). (K600 or may be a Firepro)

2. Is it wise to get a 2 x 4 Gb RAM (Dual Channel )rather than 1x8 Gb(Single Channel) since there are only two slots on the board.

P.S. - The only reason i am making a mini-itx pc is that i can carry it to my college easily.
I wanted cooler master 110 cube mini-itx but it isn't available in my country and costs double if i import.
Also most of the good and new components are unavailable leading to poor configuration.(just like my dell TN based monitor)...:-(

Feel free to advice...:)

I,m also from INDIA
As your primary use is for Image and video editing and occasionally for gaming , you need to focus on the graphic card and ram as your processor is quite good. It is always good to go Dual channel rather than single channel of ram because If any damage occurs to the ram , you might not be able to use the PC . You might need more of ram for CAD applications . 8 GB is just ordinary .The sweet spot for most Cad applications is 6 -16 GB . You should go with 12 GB of ram to be good.
Don't fall into the trap of buying a gaming graphic card. Gaming needs space , CAD needs accuracy . You will definitely need to buy a quadro graphic card for your PC.

This should definitely help you .
Thank You
