It's time to build a new PC for gaming and light streaming.

My main concern with this build is I that I'm wondering if all the parts fit. I want to top mount the Arctic Liquid Freeze ii 280 in a NZXT H7 Flow case, not sure if it'll work. Does anyone have this setup and find that it works? Does anyone recommend any other liquid coolers for i7 13700k? My main concern is buying a Cooler that fits in the case with the motherboard.

Any advice on this build list would be much appreciate as I put it together in a day and feeling good about it, but the last time i built a PC was in 2015.

There is some recent frowning about problems with Samsung drives....mentioned on this site and elsewhere.

Not positive, but I think the 980 Pro is one of the drives mentioned.

Doesn't mean you will have any issues, but you might consider something else if you are cautious.

Going to take a touch of work and will depend on being able to find the information. You should be able to see installed dimensions of the rad and fans. You will want to not only check that against the case, but of the hopes that your motherboard manual shows a height detail for the heatsinks.

Here's a few cost cutters.

No bugs with the Samsung Evo and it runs cooler than the Gen 4 SSD's ^^

Thanks all for the feedback, i appreciate it.

So takeaways:
Go with the 970 EVO over 980 PRO. Why not the 970 PRO? Is there much diff from PRO/EVO, 970/980?

I initially was going for the msi z790a pro but i like the look of the tomahawk better.

For gpu, i like MSI and the 4070 ti is 900 which is too much for me. 660 is more comfy for a 3070. But, is $900 for 4070ti a better deal vs 660 for the 3070?

For the Corasir 850w RMX.. is the 2018 or 2021 model the way to go? Leaning more towards the 2018 because people say it's quieter.

I'm pretty much ready to go ahead and order, but worried that the Arctic liquid freezer ii 280 won't fit in NZXT H7 Flow case with the tomahawk z790 motherboard. What would be another really good AIO for the i7 13700k in a H7 Flow? I was thinking the Kraken z63 280 nzxt if the Arctic doesn't fit, any other recommendations?

970 Pro is discontinued per Samsung site.

It is available at Amazon; at 166 dollars for a measly 512 GB capacity. That alone would run me off.

350 for 1 TB. Would you swallow that?

WD is another possibility if you want to avoid Samsung entirely. SN 750; 770; 850 and variants. The 750 is gen 3; the others are gen 4.

Yeah it's a no go for the 970 pro. sorry didnt look it up before asking that one.

So the 970 EVO plus is safe to get? It's not on that naughty list? This one is 20 bucks cheaper than the 980 evo.

It's not on any naughty list as far as I know.

Safe?

Meaning reliability? That's anyone's guess. You spin the wheel and you takes your chances....like any other PC component slung off an assembly line. The only defense against that is crossed fingers.

If I were buying today, it would be among my top candidates. I bought something else yesterday, but only because it was on an extreme sale.

You might be swayed by benchmarks that show better performance elsewhere? You might be swayed by it being the hopelessly old-fashioned gen 3? etc, etc. Always reasons to second guess yourself, but ideally you aren't prone to that.

I just don't want it to fail, so 970 evo plus it is!

Going to go with the 4070 ti, Thank you for bringing up getting it @Why_Me. https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GeForce-RTX-4070-12G/dp/B0BNWBJ8Z6

Any other recommendations for a cpu cooler? and for the PSU which model?

build:
i7 13700k
msi rtx 4070ti
h7 flow nzxt
970 evo plus 1tb
msi mag z790 tomahawk wifi ddr5
g skill trident z5 cl32 6400 32gb
2018 or 2021 model of the corsair 850w RMX? is 850w good enough for i7 13700k + 4070 ti?
arctic liquid freezer ii 280? Kraken z63 280 ? others?
