Here is a link to what I was thinking about for a CPU, motherboard and memory. Its been quite sometime since I built a new one. I need to do my upgrades little by little. It will be just for gaming no overclocking. Next year I plan on upgrading GPU.

If no overclocking, 8700 is enough. Can you list your current rig and games you will play? Resolution/setting? Monitor?

Current rig i5, 16gb memory and 980ti all about 4-5 years old. I will be upgrading my tv 1080p next year along with new gpu. This is all preparation to go 4K next year. I am not able to drop down all the cash in one shot. Games: FPS, Online, Strategy.

Are you sure your PSU is only 450? 980ti is already 250 without OCing. I will suggest a larger psu too. Which I5 exactly? If 1080ti, GPU will still bottleneck in 4k and your I5 may still be fine.

That PSU is a 1000 watt, unless i'm missing something. If I remember right the CPU is a 4th generation Haswell 3.2. Oh for the GPU I will wait for the next generation GPU not 1080ti sorry did not specify that.
