Hey guys i was just wondering..ATM i have i7 4770,16GB DDR3 1600mhz ram,and a gtx 1060 6gb.
So i am in dilemma right now should i just buy a gtx 1080 or 1080ti or should i upgrade my pc to i7 8700,16gb DDR4 2400+ ram and keep the gtx 1060 6gb? cus i dont wanna spend too much, what would be the best decision?

Solution
It could be that the Free-sync ASUS MG248q monitor helps with the frame rates.
Maybe he has tweaked in game graphics settings, which could have an impact on FPS.

If the games he plays, with the same GPU, yields better results then you might need to upgrade the CPU (Motherboard, RAM and maybe PSU) to get similar results.
Are you having issues with your current setup?
Games that require GPU power won't perform better by moving to a i7 8700 and keeping the GTX 1060.
You current CPU will perform better with a GTX 1080 than with GTX 1060.
You could save and upgrade all your components later on when Intel i7 8700 and GTX 1080 (GTX 2080) go down in price.

i use Benq XL2411z 144hz and he uses ASUS MG248q 144hz. in never games like bo4 i see a noticeable difference in performance..i am forced to play on 60 fps with max settings cus if i lower them the fps will increase but the game will stutter its not a great experience. and his game runs smooth no matter the settings i guess ddr4 and new cpu make that difference .

HeHe yea, i do leave him behind a bit cus of better cpu and a bit more mhz on ram, it does make a noticeable difference.
