Hello guys, once again seeking for your advice here and it's like that: i have a few years old pc
i7 6800k
48gb Ram ddr4
980ti
970
z170a gaming pro

my problem is that i bought a new PSU and it was with some kind of error and it killed my motherboard, but now i have a problem to get a new motherboard that supports that 6th generation processor, so i just figured it would be best to buy a new motherboard and a new processor, but with that changing i would need a new RAM also. So what do you suggest, it is better to change the systems and go to AMD or i stay at Intel. I work in a Production company and my job is as 3d/2d animator, so i need something to work with. Can someone please help, and if is worth to keep some of the components.
Thank you

What 3D software are you using? What is your budget for CPU, RAM, and motherboard?

Blender has the highest optimal system requirements of those with an 8 core CPU. All recommend 32+GB RAM.

What country are you in?
i am from Slovenia, so you're saying i should keep the old cpu and try to find a motherboard on an ebay or something, because i can not buy new one anymore...

Here is an example of what you could do from a high end perspective:
PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core Processor (€429.00 @ Alternate)
Motherboard: MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard (€176.79 @ Mindfactory)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (€355.99 @ Alternate)
Total: €961.78
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

The 1st CPU is a 12c/24t and the 2nd is 8c/16t. Both are very good at things like Blender.

ok , i like the first choice, BUT what if i use my old 48gb of RAM ddr4 3000mhz Corsair Vengence lpx, it is compatible, is it not, so then i can spend more on other components.
You were very helpful, thank you very much

Yeah you can use that RAM. There might be a slight decrease in performance compared to the 3200MHz RAM, but it won't be $350 worth of lost performance, especially when you go from 4c/8t to 12c/24t on the CPU. Since you had a 6th Gen Intel I had figured it was 2133 or 2400MHz RAM.
